iPhone Prototype, Requisitioned

This post is a follow-up to our previous post New Apple iPhone Leaked

Following yesterday media’s frenzy about a supposed leaked iPhone, Apple has contacted Gizmodo and requested the device be given back to them. This undoubtedly confirms that the device is in fact an iPhone prototype. Multiple sources have confirmed that Gizmodo has, without further conflict, given the device back to Apple. Here’s the letter which was sent to Gawker Media (Gizmodo’s parent company)Apple's Letter to Gizmodo

There are also a number of news sources pointing this guy to be the original iPhone holder: http://bit.ly/bayhd9

So are you convinced yet? What do you think of this whole scandal? Do you believe Apple should be more open about its products in the future, or will they simply be even more careful and secretive in the future? Let us know in the comments.

Very interesting indeed. To be honest, I’m not that excited about the new iPhone. They are just catching up with other phones.

Well I dunno, not every phone out there offers video chatting through a front-facing camera!

HA! I love the letter. “Please let me know where I can pick it up.” I would respond with “come to my house for dinner and an interview and then we can talk.”

The only problem is according to california laws, they could have technically pressed charges

Apple is an unbelievable hype machine. I just picked up an iPad 3G at a little known Apple store in Delaware, USA and was shocked that there was a line…even there. The drama on this one continues. Gizmodo’s Jason Chen (the man in the video) had his apartment raided by police and several computers were taken. Now they are trying to figure out if this was a violation of California’s “shield laws” that protect journalists in certain circumstances, including if they are in possession of stolen property. Of course, there are those who would argue that the stuff on Gizmodo isn’t really “journalism”
