When Do You Find Yourself Micromanaging?

Pretty much everyone detests working for a micro-manager. But do you sometimes micro-manage others? If so, then why?

Some experienced managers will tell you that micromanagement is an effective method only for employees that need close monitoring. These are usually employees that are not self motivated to begin with, hence the need for additional attention to detail.

Micro-managing is really added work for the manager. To be really successful, try to find A-players for your team that are self motivated and not in need of having every detail managed. If not, it is only a matter of time before you or your employees burn out.
