Leading by Influence or Control?

Leadership used to be de facto based on control. You had employees, they performed specific functions, and that was that. But as jobs shift from labor to knowledge-based jobs, there is less control over employees and more power in their hands due to the knowledge they possess.

If you try to lead them by control, it’s a set up for failure. Try to lead by influence and partnership instead.
