Would you work if you didn’t get paid?

If your answer is no, it’s about time you start looking for a new job. Your job should be something you enjoy doing, not some chore that has to be done. More often than not, you spend MOST of your time awake at work. So why is it that far too many people are doing stuff they hate?

What’s worse is that people often pick careers solely based on the wage-factor: the amount they’ll get paid.

But why is it such a social norm for people to hate their work? It’s almost like moving in with someone you hate. Would you do that if you could help it? Imagine spending 8 hours a day with someone you dislike! If you wouldn’t dream of doing that, why choose to work in a job you hate?

What’s more is that the quality of your work will definitely suffer if you don’t enjoy it. Fact: passion shines through your work. If you don’t have that passion, your work will suffer. If you procrastinate a lot, that’s a big sign that you don’t like what you’re doing.

Try searching around for another career path if you don’t like your current line of work. It’s always a blessing to be able to enjoy the stuff you do at work and get paid for it.

Not everyone will find work they enjoy. But there’s no harm in trying. Maybe you need to think about setting up your own business.
